The Snow That Calms

It was a beautiful November day.  Although it was only 25 degrees the sun was shining and the wind was calm.  A perfect day for a hike.  I'd been wanting to get some pictures of Wolfkiel Falls when it was frozen.  Today should be just the day.  So, I laced up my boots, put on a couple of layers of jackets, grabbed my camera and threw on my hat.

Even driving up Dutch Hill relaxed me.  It was nice to get away from town.  The frozen tree branches hanging over the road glistened in the sun.

I parked at the top of the hill.  Even though the day was sunny the hill was still icy and my 2 wheel drive might not make it back up.  It was only a short hike down the hill to the trailhead.

The first few steps into the woods is like an enormous weight falling off my shoulders.  The walking was easy.  I could make it to the falls in about a half hour.
